Chat'Innov – Francophone AI Hackathon

Chat'Innov is a hackathon organized by the Hanoi Francophone Digital Campus (CNF), under the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), in collaboration with the Institute for Research and Development in Artificial Intelligence at Hanoi Polytechnic Institute. Aimed at university students, this event seeks to promote the research and development of AI applications to address real-world problems with a positive community impact. 

With a total prize pool of up to 70 million VND, Chat'Innov offers a stimulating and enriching platform for students passionate about AI. 

I. Event Overview

Over 24 hours, teams of 2–3 students will develop a chatbot based on ChatGPT technology to tackle a real-world problem proposed by a company or educational institution, using authentic data extracted from active websites and provided by the organizer. 

II. Participation Requirements

The competition is open to undergraduate and master’s students from AUF member universities in Vietnam. 

For teams outside Hanoi, participation is limited to two members per team. The AUF will cover: 

• Round-trip flight tickets 
• An allowance of 2,400,000 VND per team for accommodation and meals

III. Application Requirements

Each team must submit a complete application, in French or English, including: 

• CVs of both team members 
• A list of completed projects with brief descriptions 
• A proposal for a practical chatbot application leveraging ChatGPT capabilities 
• A presentation of the team’s skills and justification for selection in the final phase 

👉 Up to 6 teams will be selected for the final phase.   

👉 Francophone teams will receive a bonus during application evaluation.   

👉 Teams including women will receive a bonus during application evaluation.

• Application Deadline: June 15, 2025, 11:59 PM   
• Finalist Announcement: June 22, 2025   
• Work Environment Familiarization Day:  July 23, 2025
• Hackathon (Final Phase): July 23–24, 2025  
• → Location: CNF Hanoi, Room 227 – Tạ Quang Bửu Library, Hanoi Polytechnic Institute (1 Đại Cồ Việt, Hai Bà Trưng, Hanoi)   
• Awards Ceremony: Afternoon of July 24, 2025  

V. Prizes

• 🥇 1st Prize: Choice between:   
• Participation in a 5-day summer school in Bangkok in early September (for Francophone students)   
• OR a gift in kind worth 30,000,000 VND   
• 🥈 2nd Prize: Gift in kind worth 20,000,000 VND   
• 🥉 3rd Prize: Gift in kind worth 12,000,000 VND
